Jamie and I for campervan weekend parked at car park at end Glen Trool.
Drove down on Friday night and 8pm had quality Chinese at Newton Stewart (jamies 3rd visit)
bed by 1am so no early start today.
Took Gairland burn route to Loch Valley (path ok, dry and pre growth period) and in early stages saw total 6 people (1/2/3) but once crossed mid burn alone all day, headed quite quickly onto Craignaw lower ridge then some excellent granite pavements taking you in increments to superb summit location (2h45m), break for 30 mins then off to dungeon hill via bealach erect cairn and contour round to summit in 1hr, another 15 min break then set off for Mullwharchar, bealch marked by another impressive Bruce stone then contour onto grassy ridge and summit with 1hr arriving 4pm, another 15 min break then descended to Loch Enoch for 4.45pm(loch within a loch) and quality dook with pear cider, hingin aboot for 1hr or so.
contoured aroud loch and met dyke/fence and unexpected highlight of the day returning via Rig of enoch - path of sorts on dry, short grass to Buchan hill end point then descended thro crags to end Merrick path.
Tea olives/pistachio/cherry yogurt/pizza/macarons + white wine/beer, bed by 1030pm...
