Jamie and I in campervan at Glen Trool - 0915 to 1645
up by 7am and after breakfast/bacon roll off along thro' route to clatteringshaws loch, within 45mins at foot shiel burn.
Steep grassy ascent, tufts dry and golden at moment, quickly at top steep section for dook than gentle pull up to nick of the lochans at 510m, then rising traverse around shoulder of Lamachan on 610mish contour passing erratics to bealach and quick out and back to larg hill in 3hrs (1215) then continued on to Lamachan, 3.5hrs (1245) and continued along ridge to good view point and lunch spot with views over yesterdays route and glistening lochs. Quick jaunt along ridge to foot Curleywee and quick steep pull up grass to summit in 5hrs (1415), 30 min break and splitting up. Jamie of E to Millfore and picking him up at Clatteringshaws loch. I took descent N to white hill and then W descent above crags to fence/burn and descent onto cycle track/SUW in 1hr. Then good yomp along and up track to welcome van, quick change and off for Jamie by 5pm. Picked him up just before Clatteringshaws loch visitor centre before 6pm.
Superb Easter weekend outings and perfect weather to counteract Galloway fearsome tussock reputations.
