An Easter Break on Rum and this was day one.
We arrived off the early morning ferry and after putting the tent up at Kinloch campsite and having a wee wander, we enjoyed the tour of kinloch castle. Such a fascinating building but a shame to see it falling into a state of disrepair.

After the tour we took headed across the island to Kilmory Bay. The weather was heavily overcast with cloud obscuring any view of the mountains, so we decided not to climb anything but to stay low.
An easy walk on the land rover track took us into the Red Deer research area and down to the beach.
We'd taken dinner with us so enjoyed some alfresco dining on the beach watching the oyster catchers.
The easy walk home to the campsite meant that we felt we'd at ;east explored a little bit, even if we hadn't made it up a hill!
