Sorry for your loss Rockhopper, it's never easy but as others have said hill time definitely helps ease the pain.

Good to have you back though, nice report I enjoyed it, looking forward to things ramping up to your usual standard of +57km multi-hill-mega-days! :D

Sorry to hear about your Dad.
It's a difficult time but the mountains will help ease your loss, peace and quiet - a great healer.

Welcome back and all the best.
57k! nothing like easing yourself back into the swing of things

Condolences on your dad. It's not easy but sounds like you're doing exactly what he'd want you to do to get back out in the hills. Enjoyed your report and nice to see those goats on Sail Mhor again. 8)

Loved these reports - could visualise the ones I've done and thanks for the info about the ones I haven't. There's nothing like being out on the hills to walk and talk with the people we love who are no longer here. Thanks for posting this.

Good to see you're still around and kicking!

But sorry to hear about your Dad, though I think getting back into the hills is likely to be a good way to help handle it.
It was my Dad that gave me the impetus to start hill-walking again in earnest, after he suggested I would enjoy Skye - and especially the Cuillin Ridge - more than Barra. It was just a pity that he didn't live to see me complete the ridge traverse.

Some cracking pics here, a number of areas I've not yet visited - a bit of a catalytic nudge...

Sorry to hear about your loss. I have found the hills a great escape for soothing the soul.

I was down at Afton yesterday, not feeling particularly fit, but taking inspiration from you.

Echo all the above sentiments - some great waterfalls. i reckon to see about one person every three Corbetts - they're still delightfully quiet and lonely places :D

Lovely report and photos. I do think that hill walking is great therapy for most things and it sounds as if you have many special memories of being with your father in the hills. I am so sorry that he won't see your Corbett compleation but he will be there in your thoughts. I was really lucky in that my father was able to come up to the Nevis Range ski centre (brought by my sister and brother) in his wheelchair and see me appearing out of the clag as I descended my last Munro, Aonach Mor. He died 3 days later, probably from a DVT, probably due to the car journey home but my family all feel that he went out really happy to see me, the rebel child who hated hill walking as a child, be the first ( and still the only) family member to Compleat.
Looking forward to reading more of your return to the hills.

Great report and wise words of perspective. Echo all the comments above re healing and time, and the sheer ability of the empty countryside to help the process along. Keep on walking ... :D

Thanks again everyone for all the nice comments. Nearly finished two weeks in the Baltics and looking forward to exercising off all the food and drink to get back to the hills. Thanks :)

Good to have you back! :D Some wonderful Corbetts in those parts.

Sorry to hear of your dad's passing, but he would have been with you there in the hills, and always will be.
