Summary:
Excellent spring forecast. Left Glasgow digs at 0900 and Morrison's at 1000. Heavy holiday season/Saturday morning traffic on A82. Car park at Elleric packed and warm and humid amongst the trees at midday. Blue skies and lots of sunshine - shorts weather. Yappy Spaniel at Glenure. Once out of trees, cooling down and then perfect walking conditions - light winds, good visibility, though tinder dry underfoot (fire risk in April?). Views to Beinn Sgulaird across Glen Ure and back to Glen Creran stunning. One or two others spotted and a couple briefly at the summit, but surprisingly quiet on the hill. Views north to Glen Coe hills interesting and a useful recce, Sgor na h-Ulaidh looked close but big drop down, hard to link. Retrace of steps very enjoyable as some cloud moved in and dappled afternoon light made for more stunning views, walking westwards. Unrushed descent with plenty chances to sit on dry slopes and rehydrate/take in the view. Some birdlife, but no deer. No midges. Cooler back down in glen. Perfect, straightforward spring walk. Continued drive round Appin to Caolasnacon campsite, Kinlochleven - Mamores next day.
