Earned some Brownie points as Grace had night away in Dundee. Kids at school and Grace looking at kitchens.
Route taken from Steve Fallon website. Left Edinburgh at 5am!! Ditched bike at Glencoe ski centre and started at Loch Tulla. It was raining but forecast was promising. Set off and at the first peak it was a white out. Garmin had stopped working and I had no GPS back up. So I used the map and compass. Really enjoyed the freedom and won't bother with preloaded courses in future.
Tough slog up to Criese but views and summits were some of the best. Didn't meet a soul till the ridge to Meall a Bhuiridh. I found the walk down from the summit odd. I felt the ski tows scarred the landscape and the mountain resort was pretty shabby. Like most things in the highlands it missing investment.
Cycle back to LochTulla was brilliant fun. All the way down hill. Back in Edinburgh for 6pm.
Long day but one of my best days in the mountains
