Cycled in from Alladale along Gleann Mor to Deanich Lodge, passing a group of young people on an expedition. Beautiful sunny day, dumped the bike just over the bridge at 354840 and walked along Gleann Beag to take the path northwest from just
before the weir, there has been a lanslip across the path around 337839 but it is crossable with care. There are a few stalking paths crossing the hillside but all seem to lead in roughly the right direction. The steep bit done it was a good walk to the top at 823m, where the views in all directions were fantastic. Walked to the summit cairn which was guarded by a ptarmigan part way through the change to summer plummage, and enjoyed lunch with views. Took off south then south east , seeing small groups of hinds all over the peat hags, to find the top of the stalkers path not shown on the OS 1:50000 map and overshot a bit, but soon was on the zig zags descending to the bike. The cycle out was a lot faster than the cycle in.
Great day
