This is a wonderful walk which can make a short day out but is also a great area to spend hours exploring.
We went down to the rocky beaches along the Silver Walk, visited the ruins which appear on the right after having left the coast (a bit boggy although), had a prolonged lunch break near Lochan na Fola, explored the area around the reservoir including crossing the dam, and conquered the castle.

The Silver Walk is not steep and not too difficult. It can be slippery sometimes, but not more than any other rocky trail.

We left the path at two occasions to head down to the water at small rocky bays. The cairn which marks the point to leave the Silver Walk is not the first one at the far end of the last bay, but the smaller one on the top of the following rise. The next 200 yards can be wet, but the views back over Loch Moidart are ample rewards:

Then the ruins come into view on the right. It is possible to explore them but there is no path and it was boggy in places.

The path winds around along the hillside until Lochan na Fola comes into view ahead. The sun was burning and it was very warm. So we seeked for shadow under the small tree at the point where the path devides, with good views back to the lochan:

The picture is taken from the start of the onward route. The path seen on the right of the tree leads to Blain for a longer alternative walk, the one left of the tree is where we came from.
The onward route heads up onto a small pass and then down towards the reservoir, which is a wonderful spot.
We left the path and explored the left side of the loch, there are some outcrops to pass, but it is beautiful. Then we continued on the path to skirt the edge of the loch and cross the dam. The views from the dam are fantastic, with (in the background) Ardnamurchan on the left and the Small Isles on the right (Eigg prominent, and depending on the angle, Rum beyond):

Back on the path, this follows roughly the line of a pipeline and a small stream through abundant, green, mossy, woods to come down to the road. Turning left and immediately right brought us back to the shoreline, passing signs about a disease that has stroken larch trees in the area.
The views towards Castle Tioram from the coastal road are a classic. We crossed the causeway and my son started playing conquering the castle...it took him 3 hours...
