Climbed with Fergus after UMC Skye weekend. Left car at Achnashellach station at 10:00 on a dull sometimes drizzly day. We followed a good stalkers path up to the foot of the hill followed by a very steep climb up the nose of the hill to gain the ridge. The ridge was a good walk over quartzite rock but with many ups and downs making this a hard gained 926m Munro.
We continued down towards Sgurr Ruadh with some tricky down scrambling between crags then up steep grassy banks with a boulder field near the summit. Descended over grass and rocks to the col and multiple lochans before finding the good path to meet our outward route, then back to the car and the long drive home.
Warning
Please note that hillwalking when there is snow lying requires an ice-axe, crampons and the knowledge, experience and skill to use them correctly. Summer routes may not be viable or appropriate in winter. See winter information on our skills and safety pages for more information.
