A quick leg stretched before the rain arrives later in the day. It was also a chance to do just under 12 miles in the newish approach shoes to see how my feet got on in them.
Last day of May, long sleeves and woolly hat!!
Set of at around 06:45am as heavy rain is forecast from around mid-day. Very grey and overcast with just a touch of rain in the wind.
I was 33:46 to Mill Dam, 56:45 to Raor Lodge and due to all the mud on the track 01:32 to the far end of Loch Ordie. A very quick stop and I retraced my steps. Hoped to sneak in under 3hrs but in the end I was bang on the 3 hour mark with an average pace of 3.9mph.
No suggestion of any blisters but the feet are a little sore, all in all a good day for the approach shoes and next time I'll look to take them up to 16 miles.
