Had cycled these tracks when on holiday in Islay in the mid 2000s - seemed a good approach to the Paps.
Sunday
Car to Kennacraig. Ferry to Port Askaig. Ferry to Feolin. Cycle up to end of track south of the Paps. Walk up to the bealach between Beinn an Oir and Beinn a'Chaolais - no decent sheltered spot so dropped down to the edge of the lochan. Set up the tent then went up Beinn a'Chaolais.
Monday
Went up Beinn an Oir - couldn't stand upright on the top due to the strength of the wind. Then walked over to the foot of Beinn Shiantaidh and started up it but even at that level was fnding it hard to stand up in the wind so decided to stop and head back to the tent. Packed up, walked down to the bike then headed home.
