I hadn't heard great things about these hills, other than they were pretty easy with the high start. However, there are not too many opportunities to tick off 3 Munros in under 5 hours, So I made an early rise and was leaving the car park at the ski centre by 7am.
Following the loose track I was on Carn Aosda with in the hour, before continuing on the Carn a'Gheoidh. Walking along the ridge, I was made to think of what a dive instructor said to me once "there are no boring dives, only boring people". I think this could be applied to hills as well, these many not have the grandeur of other Cairngorms hills, or the craggyness of the NW, but I was treated to plenty of wildlife. Large families of mountain hares were everywhere, and I almost trod on a family of grouse, complete with chicks, coming over a rise.
Carn a Gheoidh presented no issues, so I took off to the Cairnwell, eventually intersecting the loose track to the forest of antennae. After a quick cup of tea. sheltering from the wind, behind what I assume is a station for the masts, I headed back down the car park.
