Lovely sunny day and everyone was enjoying themselves, apart from a solitary sullen-looking young lad at the back of a family group - who had obviously been prized from his PSn/XBox for this family "jaunt" in the sunshine.

A braw path took us to the top and a fairly impressive Beacon on top of the summit cairn that had been filled wi stanes.

There was also a recently renovated fine memorial to the Argyle & Sutherland Highlanders to mark their "integration" along with all the other famous scottish regiments into the Royal Regiment of Scotland. Beautiful memorial. The amalgamation must've saved the Army a fortune, not having all these different tartans and accessories to pay for - but what a loss of heritage !
