After the exertions, drama, joy and stress of An Teallach the day before, and my previously injured legs feeling at a sub-optimal level, I forgave myself my feeling ever-so-slightly unenamorued at the prospect of a 19 mile walk in the rain. BUT I knew it would be worth it, and so it proved. Lovely weather at the start through the woods and up the excellent path to the head of the glen. We stopped at the bealach for the first roll of the day, however on the final steep ascent of Beinn Dearg, as forecast, the heavens opened, and didn't stop for 5 hours. However, once our waterproofs and predictably failed and every part of our bodies were wet, it was pretty fun. A haphazard ascent and descent of Cona' Mheall ended in cowering under a howf near the lochan at the bealach for some shivery tea and soggy rolls, and the rest was a breeze (kind of). It turned out to be a lovely night in Ullapool, made even sweeter by a fish supper and a few too many whiskies.
