Killilan return trip

For the second day running we cycled up Glen Elchaig to Iron Lodge. It was a much sunnier day, we knew what the track was like, and the day wasn't too challenging, so it was a more relaxed ascent. We walked around the cottage, which sadly is bare inside with broken windows, and set off up the zigzags. As soon as the track started to descend, we struck up across the hillside. The steep grassy ground eventually eased off, with a summit-like crag in the distance. We decided to have a late lunch on the summit. Of course, if we had looked at the map, it was obviously not the summit, as we found when we got there and the true summit revealed itself as an impressive little rock some distance away. As we ate our very late lunch and admired the splendid views in all directions, we were upsetting a golden plover which continually peeped its alarm call.
We returned down a different 'ridge' and ended up at the top of the valley at the end of Loch Mullardoch, it was quite fun to be in another remote valley, if only briefly. .
We followed the track back to our bikes. Only one cow blocking the road this time on the way out.
