It was a short drive from Dirrington Great Law to the start to this hill at spot height 401 above Faseny Cottage where there was space to park about 5 cars. I knew this route was mostly on good tracks so it was off with boots and on with the approach shoes - I wanted a fairly fast circuit to give me time for Spartleton. I headed down the steep road to the cottage and decided to to do a anti-clockwise circuit.

Not much to say about the ascent except to say that it was quick on a good road all the way to the summit trig - the only negative being the number of times the road crossed the Faseny Water, which, after the recent rain, was pretty deep in places.

A quick check on the compass and I headed off on a faint path (marked on the OS map but not really very distinct on the ground) to try to find the start of the marked vehicle track over Dun Side, again not as distinct as suggested on the map as it's really just two rutted tracks through the peat and heather until it improves lower down.

Anyway, after a speedy descent, I went a little distance downstream at the ford to make use of the bridge near the cottage before plodding back up the steep road to the car.
