I was reminded that we had done this walk by Malky C's recent post, so I've added by 2P worth.

This was one of our last stretches of the legs before the 24 Peaks Challenge 2009. Beautiful day with little wind. Climbed up from the Steadings rather than walking up the Glen, and back off after Beinn na Cille. With Rah, Khali, Bruce and Colin, Neil and Nick missing.

Evidence of the Voodoo fighter plane crash found in several areas on the north leg, from the 1950's. The US pilot missed the turning down Loch Linnhe by a good mile.

Doing it anti-clockwise meant a steep ascent down by the woods. Easier off heading west off last hill. It was all worthwhile once we had retired to the restaurant on the estate for wedges and beer!

It was one of those walks you felt really pleased to have done. A really good stretch. And the restaurant is a little gem.

Wow, that restaurant is actually in Kingairloch? I'm going to have to go there sometime. Work seems to take me into this area from time to time, but between actually working and trying to do a few hills, I barely get a chance to see what else is around. Cheers :)

A great horseshoe. I'd go back and do it again in an instant if there weren't so many other places I wanted to go as well :?

Yes its down on the estate, by the lochside, funnily enough. Slight vested interest as we renovated the old boathouse, but Roger the chef is really very good and the food sourced locally. I think its opening hours are Thursday to Sunday, but check on Kingairloch website.
