We left this a bit late in the day as it took far longer to get to Torridon from Shiel Bridge than expected, but managed it just about, in a gale.
Seriously, on Ruadh-stac Mor, the wind must have been 40mph, gusting 50. We were struggling to keep our feet, and had we been on a ridge we would have looked to drop off.
Nice shot, and you can see the Torridonian sandtone below the white quartzite nicely here
Warning
Please note that hillwalking when there is snow lying requires an ice-axe, crampons and the knowledge, experience and skill to use them correctly. Summer routes may not be viable or appropriate in winter. See winter information on our skills and safety pages for more information.
