final day of Arran week, early morning start up 0630 and walking by 0815. Van petrol light on at Blackwaterfoot but garage not open yet... park up at Pirnmill shop and head up road/track/path and Arran Access signposts, wet path winds thro birch woods and alongside burn and waterfalls, emerge onto hillside and soon reach small hydro weir by rough access road. Wet path heads to foot left ridge of Coire Roinn, scrambly option. Boots/Grass making me slip loads today, pacerpole bottom section bent in biggest slip when traversing below final scramble. On summit in around 2 hours, Blackwaterfoot bakery flapjack for snack, good views down coast to South and take other corrie ridge for proper circuit back to weir. Good weather today, and quick slippy return 11:45 for slow petrol conserving drive back to Garage and 12:30 return to sliddery base. Quick lunch and pack up by 14:30 and head on minor road to Whiting Bay/Lamash route back to afternoon in Brodick. Fantastic ice cream and takeaway pizza before Ferry, home by 22:45
