The Route:A part of our family holiday - 5 days in Kintail, near isle of Skye, after rainy days the forecast for tuesday offered dry conditions and very good visibility for The Cuillins. A great opportunity for my son Patrik ( 21 y.o. from the Czech Republic ), who joined us for the holiday and myself to enjoy the beauty of the Cuillin Ridge. Our base was not too far from Skye this time, a good point to reach anywhere ( Isle of Skye, Torridon, Kintail... ). Last year we drove over 5 hours from home, in the night and did Bruach na Frithe & Am Basteir, then back home the same day - one, but long day trip with all the driving. Also in 2015 one day trip, night driving and back home early afternoon with my brother when we climbed Blaven ( we managed to get back home early afternoon after 5 h of driving each way and caught 16:00 Cinema - movie Everest, then started another trip to do An Teallach, Fannichs and Ben Hope in the following 3 days ) ...so would be shame to not use the advantage of staying close this time
Because of Family holiday we did not want to be selfish and climbing the mountains every day ( ok, "we did not want" is not the right combination of words, but wanted to spend the time together with family and the weather forecast was against anyway ), We had plans for some road trips and family walks across Isle of Skye together for the other days.
We woke up and left our base camp very early morning, adviced to my wife and my 7 y.o. daughter Cheyenne to do some nice local walks ( around Eilean Donan Castle etc. ) while we would climb the mountains... The Movie - route coverage with great views - Photos at the End:Some Photos:
