Parked at the start of the forestry road on the B934 road to Dunning from Yetts O' Muckhart and headed through the gate
After walking for a wee while you come across a small pile of stones and a post on the right hand side leading you up into the trees
In dry weather this section up through the trees would be fine but alas we had rain the night before and it was still raining today, so it was very slippy underfoot and I was not looking forward to my return journey
As you come out of the trees you can see you target for the day
The its over the stile and up you go
Summit cairn with Trig point in the background
Some views from the top
It was getting a bit wet and chilly, so it was time to head back down. On the way up I noticed a marker post showing a path through the trees which looked like it would miss out the steep, wet, possibly soggy bottom section of the path for my return journey.
After checking my map I saw that it was another fire break that would lead back down to the forestry road. So instead of going straight down I turned right and made it down without incident. This path brings you out about 400m further up the forestry road from where you left it at the start and has another marker post for anyone wishing to take this route up
Then its follow the forestry road back down to the start.
Even in the pouring rain this was a nice wee walk and not too taxing on the old legs.
