A 10:10 start from the Glen Sherup car park saw us on a frozen summit in about 1:40 hours. The first 3km were along a good forest road to reach a cairn that marked a well travelled fire-break straight through the forest for 300m to a gate to the open hillside.
- The gate to the open hillside
A final 1.4km of steepening ascent took us to the top.
- The final slopes to the summit
- Summit cairn with Beinn a'Ghlo 45 miles away on the horizon
- A snow-clad Cruach Ardrain (probably?) on the right 38 miles away beyond the wind farm on Beinn Odhar
There had been quite a few cars in the park but we saw only one party pf three walkers in front of us on the way up and met only two heading down.
- Walking back through the forest to the forest road
I expect most were doing the complete circuit clockwise and were well ahead as most cars had left by the ime we finished. It was a cool day with the path on the open hill icy enough to make us cautious on the way up and persuade us to walk on the adjacent hillside part of the way down.
