Ben Vorlich/Stuc a'Chroin (not that you'd know)

Good drive up from Glasgow with some ominous mist covering the tops of the hills lining the A84. I didn't hold out much hope for a clear walk but kept fingers crossed. The ascent of Ben Vorlich was straightforward, the path making the going easy all the way to the top.

Once at the first top, the visibility made me consider whether I'd continue to the second Munro. I was aware of the scrambling required on Stuc a'Chroin and was a little apprehensive about the prospect in the fog. Fortunately, I managed to tag along with a small group for a while and we made it to the boulder field where we parted. As it turned out, the scrambling was terrific and maybe made slightly easier with the poor visibility eliminating any sense of height!

Once at the top of the section, the summit was reached soon after. The descent into Coire Fhuadaraich, though moderately steep in some sections, was straightforward. However, I lost the path during the circle round and only found it again halfway down towards Loch Earn. I'm going to blame the mist for that one though!

Definitely a pair that I'd love to go back to in better weather!
