Arrived in the car park and started walking at 10am. Lovely blue sky but a wicked wind even at this level, so I knew it would only get worse higher up. Put on 4 layers of clothing, the last my big water and wind proof coat. Really glad I did, saved me the bother of adding layers as I went up the path.

Fairly straight forward till going up the final climb to Beinn Ghlas as there was a big bank of snow to get over. There were plenty of footprints to follow though so once over that it was a simple walk to the summit. Really getting hit with the wind face on towards Lawers.

Didn't hang about, straight over and up Lawers without a stop. Got some shelter at the top to have a flask of hot soup, was I needing it.

Then back down, probably harder than going up with snow on the path. Took the side road down behind Beinn Ghlas and in shadow this was pretty chilly. Back out in the sunshine, it always feels like a long way back. Most people were heading back then too, so got busy going through the nature trail. Back at the car less than 4 hours later. A good outing.
