Train into Corrour with Johnny from Crianlarich in what MWIS said should be perfect conditions zero wind precipitation perfect visibility. Train delayed so the planned 2 was reduced to just Beinn na lap which JW needs for his second round. Cloud came in and at Corrour started to rain.
Off down the track from the station and a Quick plod up the hillside opposite the youth hostel at the lovel top of Loch Ossian. Strong winds on the summit ridge and some deepish snow and ice on the summit. MWIS got it wrong big time. Descended along North ridge all the way to the track that goes to Corrour Lodge to reccy the other munro to the North for next time. Then a nice off piste descent off the North ridge down to a lovely new motorway track south to the Eastern end of Loch Ossian ready for a beautiful peaceful (but pacy) stroll down the south bank of Loch Ossian in the gloaming looking magical and peaceful in the fading light. Loads of Estate traffic around the tracks though. Wealthy little community hidden in there. Back to the station with 30 mins to spare and the cafe was open and they sold beer! Great winter day out.
