New feature: walk wish-lists

New feature: walk wish-lists

Postby Paul Webster » Fri Dec 13, 2019 11:23 am

We've just added what has for long been the most frequently requested new feature on the site.

You can now keep a wish-list of walks you want to do. You can add any walk to your wish-list by visiting the page for that walk and ticking the box.

You can view your wish-list from the user menu - which is the drop down menu at the top of the page (from your username)

Wish-lists are private by default. On your wish-list page, there is the option to tick a box to make your wish-list public. If you do so, you can send the link to others and they will be able to see it; there will also be a link to your wish-list in your profile that anyone can see.

Let me know if you find any problems with this new functionality.

Many thanks for adding this feature - very useful!

Hate to be a pain in    but I found several walk descriptions, mainly for Corbetts, where the tick box is missing so they can't be added to the wish list.

A few examples:

Unfortunately have an error come up when I try to add a walk, happening on my laptop and on my phone.

General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysqli ]

An SQL error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact the Board Administrator if this problem persists.

Sorry, walks added in the last couple of years hadn't regenerated to the new format. Should all feature the new box now.

Thanks for the addition. Pushing my luck! Is it possible to enable your wishlist hills to show in a different colour in your appropriate personal hill bagging map?

The wishlist is for walk routes rather than individual hills, I'm afraid. Alot of the requests weren't from people bagging hills, so having a walks wishlist covers all types of Walkhighlands content.
