Walkhighlands

Sunday 9th August 2009 and I'm joined by my daughter Megan and her friend Lorna and a swarm of midges to tackle Bidean Nam Bian and Stob Coire Sgreamhach via the Lost Valley. Everything was going swimmingly until we hit the horrible red scree steep incline up to the beallach between the two munros. Unfortunately others had put us off doing the round trip saying the other route was really steep, so we descended that red scree - not pleasant.

There were many great views that day, and I loved the way the Mamores just started to appear one by one.

WOW - stunning photos and video, looks like a great walk (even if a little dicey in places )

Great pictures, one walk where it's well worth waiting for a clear day.

The is a degree of exposure now and again on the path from the beallach up to Bidean. Without a doubt the worst bit is decsending the red scree bit from the beallach - horrible. Megan fell on her back and burst out crying, I felt for her, it was just nasty.

Beautiful area. Great video and set of pictures. Looked a smashing walk to do

We were there the week after - but avoided the headwall - I'd go a long way to avoid that

WOW! .....Welcome to Scotland.....now that's what I'm talking about....you've kept this one hidden for a bit. Fan..tas..tic!!!!...great camera work. Just advanced this up the to do list.

Only recently joined this site and trying to clear my walks backlog, so that I'm putting new ones up only. As I don't intend of doing any until April, I should get the decks cleared.

still to do these so looking good for the summer.

I think I need to re-do these hills.
Did them in mist, as my final two Munros, and didn't see a thing.
I didn't like the ascent onto the bealach back in 2005, I can only imagine it is even worse now due to further erosion.
