New campervan 022 2nd 2019 and Kylesku Hotel.
We drove from the Scourie WC 160 to the car park at the S end of loch Stack.
A transient ridge of high pressure provided a quiet weather day. Ground conditions above 500m entailed large snow fields. Some post holing but mostly reasonably well consolidated and I used rocky ribs and bare areas wherever possible.
From the car park at the S end of Loch Stack I biked to Lone. Then on foot jogging and walking in Walshes along the good track E to bealach Feithe. Then a direct ascent of Sabhal Beag. A grand broad undulating ridge to Sabhal Mor and Meal Horn. Quite a Winter's feel to the route given the ground conditions with excellent views to the surrounding hills and sea.
Dash left with Jean who gave him two short walks.
A wonderful hill day, very satisfying and a good pace in Walshes, 5.25 hours.
We then drove to Knochan Crag WC 116 for an overnight.
Same route repeated on 15/07/2021 but with descent via Creachan Thormaid. Separate entry for this day.
First ascent of Meall Horn on 05/03/2012. Separate entry for this day.
