I tried to get this munro in March 2010, but due to a lack of crampons and ice-axe, knew when I was beat. After all, easy enough to get him another day! Anyway, got some good Winter photos on the 1st attempt:

Joined up with Peter Adams on Saturday 26th June 2010 to knock off some munros.

Revisited Ben Lui near Tyndrum which defeated me in march. This time we got all the way up the front face from the A85 side (3700 feet!!), joining the ridge just before the summit. The mist rolled in so we descended to the bealach to have our lunch and then bag the 3005 feet neighbour Beinn a' Chleibh. Then back to Bealach and return to car. 6.5 hours.

Some footage from the failed attempt at Ben Lui in March 2010. Great views of the drive home - stick with this one!:

And a wee update - climbed this again, but from the carpark on the A28 at Dalrigh - amazing!!! MUCH MUCH MUCH better route and views to die for:

Nice report, and videos. Don't know what you said to the sheep but they didn't seem too impressed.
What's the path like back down towards the road? I hear it's quite steep.

I told Peter when they were at the edge that they pushed back more. Hoho.

Didn't see anything to difficult at all. Can be boggy following the river though, Peter got right up to his knee in a peat bog. I was laughing my head off.

Great stuff, Ben Lui is superb. Have you got your axe & crampons yet?

Was very interested to see the 'looking back up to the summit' shot to see it in summer conditions, here's a photo from the same place when I went up the gully in March 09.

No, I decided I'm a fair weather walker, will be April before I hit the munros again.

Great to see the difference between full summer and full winter conditions with those 2 pictures - thanks.

Brilliant pictures and videos. :)

I was so looking forward to doing Ben Lui this Sunday with the club I've joined but due to the weather, they have posponed it until the following weekend. Your report is exciting. I can't wait to do this walk. Cheers !!! :D
