Another good forecast, mild and dry had us looking for some self isolation! Still a lot of snow higher up so searched for a longish low level and thought of this one. Walked along the river past the estate offices toward the farm

Soon the view along the loch opened up, lovely!
- Along loch Affric
On we went skirting the foot of lapaich and an tudair
- Sgurr na lapaich
. Over some stepping stones ( no idea why pics of Ellen crossing rivers always come out on their side)
- Another allt
. The path gets a bit squelchy toward the end of the loch, but soon dries out as the fork to Alltbeithe hostel is reached, tempted to go there one day! Came round the corner and arrived at the bridge by Strawberry cottage, what a beautiful place. All the estate buildings look very well maintained!
- Strawberry fields
At the head of the loch passed a wee fishing bothy, imagine sitting on that verandah on a beautiful summer evening, or maybe not..... 🦟 !!
- Wee bothy
If anything the views from this side of the loch are even better. Really fancy this one in the summer
- Mam Sodhal
. It’s a long trudge back on the the hard path, especially when you aren’t fit yet! But before too long arrived back at the bridge near the car park
- View back
. One downside is that there aren’t many good places to sit down if it’s wet, so a relief to reach the bench and rest a tired back!
- Recovering
. But you soon recover with this view
- Recovered
. It’s quite a long way up to Glen Affric from the Black Isle, but worth every minute
