Last minute trip before the outdoor ( except local ) closure... :-(
One day trip after a long time and for a long time as it looks now...Alarm set for 02:00, driving over 4 hours, arrived in Kintail early morning...then met two walkers - campers and got the news about the advice from Mountain rescue...never needed them before, but had a dilemma when continuing my walk: should I go or should I return back...it was not ordered yet, sunday 22.3.morning, but with all the respect and responsibility I decided just to do a part of the route - at least the bealach and around to enjoy the peace, the silence, the sound and feelings of the Nature...of the Mountains...of the Wildlife...
Back home @ 17:15 after more than 4 hours of driving...and thinking...all the way...Grateful at least for the last fresh memories from the Mountains.

Respect the Mountain Rescue, be responsible and think about the others...Stay safe folks !

The Movie...the views & the wildlife we all will miss for a while now

Nice one, glad you managed to get out before the chaos hit, the memories should keep you going. Also, well done for a sensible decision in keeping it low risk.

Thanks Mal :) sad the situation now...not allowing us to go to the mountains, but now I'm really happy and grateful that I got out that sunday despite of my busy schedule and the lack of sleep and rest because otherwise I could really regret if not going...it was the last possible day so at least fresh memories ! Nothing will stop us to love the mountains, the outdoor, so one day we will be back there again :D
In the meantime we must to hold our horses and keep the rules as health and life is always priority. As much we will keep the rules as soon we will be back ! And then we will add the happiness
Stay safe everyone...

Thank you :D I did not know it will be my last mountain hike when I started the walk, but I knew that when finished there...after meeting the two walkers with their fresh news...
Let's enjoy our local walks, runs, cycling etc. to keep fit and get some fresh air ( keeping the rules and social distances of course ). Stay safe too.

Hi Petr,

Walking in our beloved Highlands is unlikely to happen at anytime in the near future. I am still glad you were able to enjoy a beautiful hike. Please take care of your loved ones and yourself.

Cheers

Thanks for posting Petr . Always enjoy your walk reports. We spent many years holidaying in the Kintail / Dornie area and enjoyed many hill days. I’ve also been up that path lots of times 😄
We were supposed to be in cannich next week with all of glen Affrics fantastic jewels to enjoy. Not to be Though. ☹️
Hope you and your family stay safe. Look after yourself mate. Hopefully we’ll be back on the hills soon.
Tony.

Hi Tony, we were supposed to be at Dornie on this Easter week, the wigwams at the end of the village - same like last October when we enjoyed Kintail & Isle of Skye, so now hope to book it for at least October again  :? I canceled the holiday and going to work for the next week instead - keeping myself busy working nowadays as a keyworker.
Thanks for your response mate, nice to hear from you and hope you and your family stay safe too. Take care and one day we will be back there again ! :D
All the Best ! Petr

Thanks Petr. Fortunately, I was able to spend an entire week in the West Highlands last February. At the time, I did not know yet, that this would be my last visit for now. Soon I will post my experiences on the forum. With a bit of luck, I’ll be able to spend my 50th birthday in Scotland this fall. Let us hope so.
