Was looking for something close to home (so as not to have to get up early) and not taxing (as I’m a bit unfit). Fiarach fitted the bill (but I have no intention of ever finishing the grahams !)

Got up later than normal for a hill day – all my walks last year had been away trips so it seemed a bit odd just going and coming back the same day. Off up the A82 – lot of traffic made me remember why I normally head off quite a bit earlier…………

Average speed camera sign just after Crianlarich – found out later that it covers a “15.9 mile stretch of the A82 and A85 roads between Tyndrum and Lix Toll”. Parked in an already relatively busy Dalrigh car park.

Off SE from the car park being careful not to slip on a rather icy road. Over the River Fillan on to a track then SW until going over a bridge over the railway then more southerly. It was actually quite warm down in the sheltered valley. Getting higher on the track I found a spot to start up the open hill side aiming for the left most tip of the trees.

Past the trees then SSE past some wee lochans

And on to the summit. The clag had been drifting in and away but I managed to get the odd photo in between.

Just after getting to the cairn, the clag really rolled in. Waited for a wee while but didn’t look like it was going to lift so set off back downwards.

It got quite grey on the way down…

…before clearing up much lower down as is often the case

Walked over the bridge and a short way along the side of the track – heard a train coming so dashed back to the bridge to get a photo

The car park was even busier when I go back. Back home in time for a late lunch.
