Campervan trip 034.
Staying at the small campsite at Lochcarron.
A very clear day with little wind. Views superb. Nine in the party: John North (69th birthday ride), Pete Dawes, Mike Parsons, Dave Henderson, John Varley, Christine Kenyon, Sara and Dave and me. The circuit: Lochcarron, Bealach na Ba, Applecross, Shieldaig, Torridon, Kinlochewe, Achnasheen, Lochcarron. The group stopped at Shieldaig for soup but Pete and I kept going. Stats: distance 89 miles, Av. Speed 11.4mph, Max. speed 40.2 mph, time 7:45:47. I set of at 8am and got back at about 16:45. The hour difference between cycling time and overall time is down to various stops. That evening we had a meal as a group at the hotel.
Other bike rides over the Bealach na Ba:
9 June 2008 and 12 March 2024.
Separate entries for these routes.
