Sunny day just around lockdown distance by starting from the South - Just along from Harrietfield. No obvious parking spot so parked well in on a verge. Short road walk to Logiealmond estate where there is a sign for Amulree. Follow road and there is a road through morningside leading to a track, but really this is private. House owner kindly let me through but in future would stay on signed road. I returned the proper way. The track met up with the landrover wide road at a forest strip. You can go round the edge of the forest easily, or stay on the track till a gate and a path through the narrow forest. Very simply follow path - a wide well made track - the rest of the way , with a couple of indicator arrows as well. A couple of small fords on the track but easy enough and with stepping stones. All this is a constant steady gentle incline. The hill is obvious on the right, and you just have to pick your own way up the hill. As steep or as circular as you choose. Some decent sheep tracks mean you can avoid plodding through heather / ferns all the time. Trig point at top with good views all round. of various hills and Loch Freuchie and wind farms. Other close by hills could be done easily in same day. Return has to be the same way unless you have arranged a lift back and continue on to Amulree.
Overall perhaps not the most exciting walk, but on a nice day a pleasant, very peaceful not demanding walk. Various bird life to be seen and heard, also an occasional deer, and toad, and red squirrels in the forest. Met three cyclists and no walkers all day.
