First walk for 2020 as Covid 19 had caused a nation wide lockdown that prevented us travelling more then 5 miles for exercise. After a release from this rule Erna and me organised a trip to do these two munros. When Erna arrived she realised she had already done them!!! Anyway, she decided to come along after all and as the day transpired she wasn't sure if she had done both - but could recall some parts of the walk. We did the walk in the reverse direction from that proposed by walk highlands. The route up towards the Bealach onto Beinn Achaladair was delightful. One person overtook us - otherwise no one to be seen. Spits and spots of rain as we headed towards the summit and then eventually had to put on waterproofs for a few showers to pass through. Mostly finished by the time we got off Beinn a'Chrechain. My Planter F started hurting just before final summit, took painkillers. On the lower slopes we decided to follow Ralph Storer's route back to avoid crossing the River Tulla... big mistake it was completely overgrown after about half a mile, like a forest through the small trees and lots of bracken. Erna did a 'face plant' at one point. Then we had to progress along the railway line for a bit as the route was SO overgrown and there were so many deep ravines to cross. We eventually headed down towards the river (after the railway bridge) and still had to cross the river anyway - slightly damp feet for the last 3 - 4 k back to the car. A great day out - though made a bit long because of the route (and fitness levels?).
