Great weather for the walk, few clouds around but sunny for the most part.
Starting at the carpark we headed up past the old graveyards and over the railway (which is live for anyone stopping to take photos!) which was straightforward to start. Then there’s an alleged path that you turn off that takes you right up by the fence, we however could not find a path and carried on up the track. We eventually saw the stile we were heading for and ended up climbing over boggy land to get there.
Over the stile and it was boggy here and there but nothing too drastic, we jumped over and back on the fence is search for drier paths.
The final climb with the summit in sight is rockier and much more dry underfoot. The ridge ridge leading to the final summit adds character to an otherwise lump of a hill.
The upper parts gave great views to the surrounding hills especially the Crianlarich 7.
On the decent we followed the fence all the way down which was much easier.
So recommend for anyone trying this walk to turn right after the gate over the railway and immediately head for the fence on the fence on the right to follow up, don’t carry on up the track.
