The Ring of Steall/Ben Nevis

This morning my legs were crying because yesterday I did the Ring of Steall, which was gruelling enough, but then I also climbed Ben Nevis after that because I woke up at 5am in my little tent two nights ago at the foot of the Steall waterfall and was ready 2 rock, so I ended up with a lot of time left before the sun set when I finished the ring. It was a total of 5 Munro’s - 4 on the ring and then Ben Nevis. Some of the views that I got to see were unreal and I’m still in a little bit of shock at how lucky I was to see all of this beauty without any rain - especially the top of Ben Nevis. When I got up there I could *literally* see for miles and miles. I was also lucky because, for the 20 minutes that I spent at the top, I was the only person there. I think because I was going up slightly later (I reached the top just before 7pm) that everyone else had already been up and down for the day. For those 20 mins I was the highest person on solid ground in Scotland and the rest of the UK! Wild!
I wouldn't recommend doing both of these in one day unless you're relatively fit - I could feel my energy waning on the descent on Nevis and I wouldn't have fancied trying to do that in the dark. The weather is also very changeable up there so if you do both of these in one day then make sure you give yourself plenty of time!

Anyway that was lovely and I felt like I wanted to share that experience because it was one of the best days hiking I have ever done. Shout out to my legs, they did good and I’m going to feed them with pizza tonight : )

P.S. my picture doesn't do the view from the summit of Nevis justice!
