Direct path up Sron na Gaoithe is quite steep. It is also warm and windless so I was struggling a bit.


Got onto the ridge and was welcomed by a decent breeze that re-energised me. Made the short detour to the top of the Sron.

Cairn of Claise to the north east. I found it better view-wise to get onto the ridge rather than follow the path marked to the west.

The crags that prevent direct progress to Druim Mor from Craigie Glasalt.

Probably a good idea to keep away from the edge.


Opposite side of Cannes Glen.






Decision point -to head north to Tom Buidhe or retrace steps. Easy decision really to head back west but a mistake in hindsight to "shortcut" across the peat hags.

Decided to detour to Cairn of Claise.




Sron na Gaoithe again.




Then decided to continue north to for a look at Coire Loch Kander and then on to Cairn an Tuirc.

Weather cheered up a bit again by the time I had descended to flatter ground.




Some nice wee waterfalls on the way down.
