Family walk during a stay at Piperdam.

Only walk of the week due to other activities and friends staying at another lodge in the park. This lead to late boozy nights and the 2 sets of kids enjoying time together doing other things.

Parked near other few cars at what we thought was the start of the walk and passed through the gate opposite. Trudged over the tussocky hillside until we spotted a few cars parked opposite the correct start point and walked over to join the path.

Steep walk up into the hillside but good clear blue/white cloud skies. Lunch at the top at the view finder shelter cairn. Metal topped with almost 360 degree outline of the horizon with summits and places named. Fabulous views.
