Knee-groaner wrote:Very useful report, thank you. We (two sixty-something men) just did this route using bikes and it was a fantastic day. Only thing I would add is that while the cycling section has occasional smooth compacted moments, a lot of it is very rough with loose stones and quite treacherous. I think it may have deteriorated a bit in last couple of years. You have to dismount for the steep downhill sections as well as the steep uphill sections - at least if you are as unskilled with mountain biking as us. We took two hours to cycle in to Bendronaig bothy and two hours to cycle out. Allow 11 hours for entire expedition if you like to stop and smell the roses too
Glad you had a good day, KG
. It's a fantastic area, I think it adds to the enjoyment of a day in the hills when you have to earn it a bit.

Even worse than that. I have found husband's account and it took us 12 hours 50 minutes....though we had to wait for him as he cycled straight into Attadale Gardens on the way back and the gate was locked, so he had to retrace his tracks. Don't know how long "Biggles" took.
Definitely a memorable day, Sgurr
. The track may have been upgraded for the hydro since you did it but I don't know for sure. In general I'd say best for those who feel confident biking landrover/forestry tracks.
