Just a follow up to stretch"s brilliant report of our day on Mount Keen. With Alan and James only having Saturday off we were desperate to get out somewhere.after contacting stretch late Thursday we left mine at 5.45am,swung by St Andrews and were in the carpark at Invermark and on our way by 9.00am.

With this being the first time the boys had met they all had a good chin wag to pass the time

The view and walk up Glen Mark was a delight

After 4km you pass The Queens Well and jb went over to take a look

.Soon after this you pass Invermark Cottage and cross the Ladder burn and start to climb The Knowe of Crippley on a good track.we made good time up here even though there was still a lot of compact snow around

.After approx 2 1/2 hrs and Andy was nearing the summit

.With me being a wee bit behind got a pic of stretch at the summit taking a pic of me coming up

Had our break here to fuel up and take some pics, with great views over to Lochnagar

The walk back down was done under clear blue sky"s,with Alan and James trying some ice-axe arrest on the compact snow.

Thanks for the advice mate, the trick is not too rely on self arrest, more to work on your footwork, the saying goes "watch your footwork and the rest will follow"

It was a wee tad chilli on the summit ChrisW",had been sweating a little on the climb with this being our first munro of the year, not so sure about wearing that buff again,as stretch said look like an extremist
