Headed to Meall Chuaich for Zena's 20th Munro - matching Moss' first year total with hopefully a couple of months left on the Munros before winter hits. The forecast left options limited, as it was I heard a rumble of thunder on our descent but it didn't amount to anything there but I had to drive through heavy rain and thunder and lightning on the way back. There was plenty of space to get parked in layby 94 with only a car and a van parked up, and layby 93 just to the south was completely empty. Not the most exciting walk, well not exciting for me anyway with the views once again hidden by haze...Zena though thought it was great fun because she got to engage in her favourite hill pursuit of boggy dig-dig plus we headed to the loch on the way down so they could have a swim. I had planned to add on the Graham Creag Ruadh as well but the thunder changed my mind.

Seems some new signs have been added since I was last here!

Moss was standing in the wrong place while Zena was digging!

Where are you going?

Bit late to be checking that it is okay for you to be doing that Zena... (it was okay)

Heading down

Looking down to the beach, we followed a ATV track that curved away to the right just before reaching the main track and made our way across boggy ground, thought I saw a faint path from above but there wasn't one. Still, was easy enough the ground was boggy but not overly bad.

Walks with a swim are always good walks!

We crossed the Allt Coire Chuaich and the dam overflow with no trouble to rejoin the track at the dam.

Not sure what this was, but Moss decided it made a nice den!

Some brilliant pics, especially of the dogs. Luna has just turned 9 months and is like an absolute rocket on our walks up Kinnoull Hill. I can't wait until the spring when I can take her with me on the big hill days. 8)
