Cam Chreag and Beinn Chaorach adventure :)

Parked up at Auchtertyre just off the A85 in-between Crianlarich and Tyndrum we were promptly into our boots and walking northwards up the track past the SRUC farm and under the railway line. You are quickly up into an area with sheilings marked on the map and there is a real sense of past lives in the glen

Following that the track leads you up and into the upper reaches Gleann a' Chlachain, through a fenced off Woodland project scheme and Coreheynan before reaching the broad bealach linking this two corbetts.

Making careful decent here after a mist covered summit of Beinn Chaorach, taking care with each step on pathless terrain whilst still taking in the glorious scenery. Also an ever watchful sheep here checking on our progress off the hill :)

Safe back at the car after a fairly hard walk at times (due in part too extreme heat on the Cam Chreag ascent), we decided to reward ourselves with light shandies and a pizza to share at the most accommodating and welcoming Crianlarich Hotel :)

All in all a fantastic day hike taking in two new corbetts and an opportunity to revisit Argyll. Long overdue and very much appreciated, offering great exercise and spiritual freedom after the trials of 2020.
