Cam Chreag and Beinn Chaorach adventure :)
Posted: Mon Aug 17, 2020 12:24 amParked up at Auchtertyre just off the A85 in-between Crianlarich and Tyndrum we were promptly into our boots and walking northwards up the track past the SRUC farm and under the railway line. You are quickly up into an area with sheilings marked on the map and there is a real sense of past lives in the glen 
Following that the track leads you up and into the upper reaches Gleann a' Chlachain, through a fenced off Woodland project scheme and Coreheynan before reaching the broad bealach linking this two corbetts.
All in all a fantastic day hike taking in two new corbetts and an opportunity to revisit Argyll. Long overdue and very much appreciated, offering great exercise and spiritual freedom after the trials of 2020.

- Entering the SRUC woodland project.
- Beinn Challum there towering above the slopes of Cam Chreag and low cloud filling the gap that is Bealach Ghlas-Leathaid.
- On top of Cam Chreag.
- The route down onto the bealach leading to Beinn Chaorach. Ben Lui appearing in the far cloud line, dominating and luring :)
- Towards the Black Mount munros.
- The mighty Beinn Dorain!
- Making careful decent here after a mist covered summit of Beinn Chaorach, taking care with each step on pathless terrain whilst still taking in the glorious scenery. Also an ever watchful sheep here checking on our progress off the hill :)
- Safe back at the car after a fairly hard walk at times (due in part too extreme heat on the Cam Chreag ascent), we decided to reward ourselves with light shandies and a pizza to share at the most accommodating and welcoming Crianlarich Hotel :)
