Wednesday off, Duncan at home at a loose end, and weather forecast hot and sunny. Three good reasons for a good walk.
It was forecast to be very hot, so Buachaille Etive Beag - not too far away and not to big a climb - seemed a good option. It was quite busy with tourists in Glen Coe as we set off, with a lot heading up the path for the views. We needed at lot of water and rests on the way up. It was steep but didn't take long to get up to the ridge. We decided to tackle the lower top first Stob Coire Raineach. Good view all round from the top especially over to the Aonoch Eagach and Buachaille Etive Mor.
Back down to the bealach and up again a bit further to Stob Dubh. Is was very hot, not a breath of wind. A wee bit further on from the summit there was a great view down Glen Etive. No wind but a lot of flies at the top so we didn;t hang around, and headed back down. The well built path helped a lot with tdescentm making it much easier on the knees. Back to the car in less than 5 hours.
On the way home we stopped at Loch Lubnaig, and had a lovely swim in the loch and a toastie at the cafe for our tea. A lovely day.
