Text late on Thurs night(can you get out this weekend, stretch),after a word with my very, very understanding wife the answer was yes.Arranged to meet at Tiso in Perth at 7.30am,and were in the parking area across from Loch Laggan and on our way by 9.20am.A good track takes you through the trees till you reach a small cairn, where you follow a small path that leads to the open hillside(bogfest of a path).Once clear of the forest the view back was brilliant
Once the accent started to flatten out I managed to get the camera back out and capture stretch with some nice views as a back drop Soon after this we knew we were not far off the summit, and were ready for a well errand rest and food break.
Stretch was saying, with us being the first car parked, and not having seen a soul all day we should have the top to ouselves, and we could get out the wind and take a break for 10/15 min. Not so sure why,but for some reason this was too much for the big fella, who collapsed to the ground This was not to last long, and we got our summit pictures, then were soon on our way to Beinn Teallach If anything the weather was worse than before, and we could see a huge cornice on the south-east slopes, and kept well back,we found the descent fairly easy even with plenty snow around,by this time stretch had on his microspikes, and it was only me who kept slipping and falling down.Once we reached the Allt"a"Chaorainn glen we had another break here. Once refreshed we made good time onto the slopes of Beinn Teallach, and a last look down before re entering the clag. With no views at the top,or on the way down my camera stayed in the bag until we got back to our car where I took a couple of snaps before we made our way home via McDs Even though we did not get many views today, this was still a great day out.
The vews in front were also fine and we hoped this was a taster of what was to come! .Sadly this was the last we would see for nearly 3hrs,with a low cloud base and snow all around, all we could do was get the head down and continue to climb up the steep slopes, navigation was of a premium in this weather,so with stretch leading and constantly checking his gps and map,and me double checking the time passed fairly quickly.Once the accent started to flatten out I managed to get the camera back out and capture stretch with some nice views as a back drop Soon after this we knew we were not far off the summit, and were ready for a well errand rest and food break.
