Solo walk.

With football coaching this morning & needing to be home before my wife went out left me a 5 hour window to fit a walk in. After a bit of research Cairn Table fitted the bill with Muirkirk, which I’d never been to, being around a 45 minute drive away.

Lucky to squeeze into the walkers car park at Kames. Set off at 1pm and took a ‘detour’ right for a few minutes but about turned to the correct route. Returned by this path.

Very boggy walk further down only relenting when hitting the hillside proper on a good path. Quite a few folk about, small groups of young women, what looked life whole families to grandparents and young parents with babies in rucksack carriers.

Huge cairn at the summit, that you can see from the start. Cracking sunny day with blues skies and a few white fluffy clouds. Descended a rough track leading to a pleasant walk by Garpel Water. Passed John Loudon McAdam monument cairn and house ruins close to the end of this circular route.
