First solo Munro
Cloud was much lower than I expected upon parking at the A82 layby. Set off and followed the track instead of cutting off right. Trudged diagonally uphill to rejoin the correct route.
Very boggy at parts but not as bad as I was expecting perhaps as it had been relatively dry recently. Flies and midges were terrible, first time I’ve used a headnet on a hill and very glad I packet it.
Reached the false summit cairn in the cloud and took a seat to check if I was at the summit when the cloud began to clear and it was obvious I had further to climb. Best part of this hill is definitely further up with a nice little ridge before the true summit. Cloud began to clear to give views at the top.
Cloud totally dispersed on the descent giving fabulous views. The Crianlarich 7 in particular looked especially inviting. Got so hot & sunny I had to ration my water. Drank 2 litres and this is usually more than enough for me on this length of walk. Last 90 minutes or so quite torturous in the sun but it was also too hot for the midges who had disappeared.
Saw about a dozen or so people altogether on the hill.
