I was half-heartedly heading elsewhere and had a change of mind. Sail Mhor was handy so off there I set.
Decided to try the direct path from the car park and this was ok until about the 300m contour where the eroded river bank broke up the path a bit. After half an hour of trying to follow the sketchy and broken path I decided to head up the bank and take a more direct line for the hill.
Initially I though I'd made a mistake when I saw the vast swathe of tussocky grass before me but, in fact, the ground under foot was flat and solid and made for good upwards progress.
Got steepish around the 550m contour and I had to rein in my own enthusiasm that was drawing me to the steep and direct approach in favour of a more zig-zaggy route.
Once onto the small subsidiary summit the views all round were great, but particularly the view north over Little Loch Broom.
An easy stroll north west then south west took in the main summit which additionally opened up views west and south west to Torridon, Skye and the Outer Hebrides.
Descended via the bealach then followed the burn to about the 300m contour before crossing the Allt Airdeasaidh and following its east bank path.
