Well, where do I start ?
Having been out of action for around 7/8wks due to the separation of some muscle from my Achilles tendon, time to regain some of the fitness lost. My GP advised me to contact the Physio Dept and arrange a course of Therapy, but after 4 calls they still seemed to be unavailable due to illness. Sod them, I will take the Therapy in hand all by myself.
Left Johnstone at around 05:00, drove through the fog bank and parked in a fog-free Succoth Car Park. Crossed the road, switch on the head torch and started up the path.
A look across the loch,

Fog was now beginning to slide downhill as I plodded upwards. looking promising for later today then

The higher up the path, the better the prognosis- excuse the pun :) ,some lovely lighting of the surroundings.

Decided to head for the Spearhead as this would give me some decent views of the approaching Sunrise. No ill effects from the leg so kept up a steady pace.

Have never summited Narnain by this route and found it a treat for the feet. Reached the first little scramble behind Cruach nam Miseag. On the route up had to stop for the impending sun rise, have a wee look,

Loving it  My wife watched a programme with Rolf Harris last night and this song lyric came into my head-
'Sunrise on the spearhead, sunrise on the spearhead,
Spreading all its rays on the clouds' completely corny I know, but indulge me I'm sharing the photos with you- but I have the memories of viewing it, live ! 8)
Thats enough for now, here's a view the other way

Here are a couple more, only two now - Don't be greedy

Just keep walking I kept telling myself, but couldn't help sneeking another peek behind :) Or to the side,

Image

And behind again,

Image

More walking to do, so just got on with the task at hand. Heard voices, but didn't see a soul :? Heard them again and scan all around- then spotted a tent with 3 German Tourists savouring the same vistas. Wished them well and kept on moving for the next ascent.

Walked steadily onwards and up through the Chimney, just not bieng able to believe that I had planned for this, but did not believe I was I woul be lucky enough to succeed- I love it when a plan comes together 8)

Some images from the summit,

Brocken Spectre,

Decided to loop the walk and summit the Cobbler then head down the Ridge to the cross at the Dam. By now I was a beaming baffoon  Spoke to a few others who were enjoying the day as I slurrped down caffeine and enjoyed all before me.

Walked along the Ridge with a grin like a cat from Cheshire, then another event- what can I say, well no more.
Zoom shot from near the Ridge end.

Fantastic pictures there and one of these days I'm going to try being up there for sunrise but will punish myself to lug all my camera gear up too.

We were looking up towards Arrochar this morning over that inversion - the long lochs really funnel it don't they.

Hope that Achilles is responding to your ministrations :)

Superb!! fantastic pics of the sun rising

and then - to just cap it all a spectre pic - you have all the jam in your jammy jam jar :)

A fantastic day and really amazing pics - really despite Scotlands - regular grey days and moments - it is these pics - these days - these moments - that totally show off how sweet a spot we have in such a small area
